Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 August 2026

This is a working draft, not a substitute for legal advice. It accurately describes what the product collects and how today, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer for compliance with GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable law — get that review before relying on it as a binding policy.

1. What we collect

To create an account: your email address, and if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the name and email those providers share with us. To use the product: a handle, and optionally your name, a bio, a website, a Twitter/X handle, and your timezone — timezone is used to hold launch-day reminders until a reasonable local hour, not for anything else. If you connect Product Hunt, we store the OAuth access token and a few display fields (username, account age, vote count) so support can be verified without screenshots. If you submit a screenshot instead, it’s uploaded to a private file store for a human reviewer to check.

2. What we don’t do with it

We don’t sell your data. We don’t run advertising trackers on this site. We don’t use your Product Hunt token for anything other than checking whether you voted on the specific post an obligation is for.

3. Where it lives

Account and product data is stored in Supabase (Postgres), protected by row-level security so members can only read what they’re entitled to. Your Product Hunt access token lives in a table with no read access for any member — service-role code is the only thing that can ever read it, and it never appears in any page you or anyone else can view. Screenshot uploads sit in a private storage bucket; the only way to view one is a short-lived signed link generated for a reviewer, and only while your obligation is awaiting review.

4. Who else sees it

Product Hunt, when you connect your account, under the permissions you grant during that OAuth flow. Dodo Payments, as merchant of record for activation and sponsored placements — they process your payment details directly; we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, not your card number. Resend, to deliver transactional email (magic links, launch-day reminders, pact notifications). Other members see what your profile makes public: your handle, name, bio, trust score, and launch history — never your email or your Product Hunt token.

5. Cookies

We use a session cookie set by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie on this site.

6. Your choices

Email preferences — pact activity, launch reminders, digests — are controlled from your profile settings. You can disconnect Product Hunt at any time, which revokes our access to your token; obligations that still need verification will fall back to the screenshot path. There is no self-serve account deletion yet — email hello@launchclan.com to request deletion or an export of your data, and we’ll handle it directly.

7. Changes

If what we collect or how we use it changes meaningfully, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.

8. Contact
